LegacyCircuit

Your board still works.
Its documentation doesn't.

Supplier gone, data lost, parts discontinued? Send us what you have – a board, a parts list, old drawings or incomplete files. We check what can be recovered and complete the manufacturing data: Gerber, drill data, BOM, assembly data and drawings.

  • Free initial assessment
  • Fixed price before any work starts
  • Manufacturing via partners on request

When the supplier is gone

These are the situations we see most often. Most of them can be solved – some only with compromises, and we tell you which. Pick the situation closest to yours.

The manufacturer no longer exists

Insolvency, takeover or a discontinued product line: the board works, but nobody supplies it any more and the data disappeared with the company.

Usually level

Four levels – depending on what you have

After the assessment we classify your case. The level determines effort, price and delivery time.

L1

Complete & convert

You have
Almost everything: data, list, drawings – perhaps in an old format or with small gaps.
We do
Check consistency, convert, close gaps and generate current manufacturing files.
L2

Fill the gaps

You have
Parts of the documentation: e.g. Gerber without BOM, BOM without layout, drawings without data.
We do
Reconstruct the missing parts from the sample and existing documents, then cross-check everything.
L3

Obsolescence rescue

You have
The data is (mostly) there, but components are no longer available.
We do
Analyse the BOM, find replacements, rate the risks and adapt schematic and layout where needed.
L4

Rebuild from sample

You have
Only the board – perhaps with a parts list or photos.
We do
Full reverse engineering: outline, drilling, copper, components, schematic and complete data package. 1–2 layers as standard, multilayer on request.

Every level ends with the same result

What you receive, whatever the level:

  1. Gerber and drill data (Excellon)
  2. BOM with manufacturer part numbers and alternatives
  3. Pick-and-place data
  4. Fabrication and assembly drawings
  5. Schematic (PDF) and editable KiCad project
  6. Review report with assumptions, open points and risks

How it works

  1. 1

    Send what you have

Upload files, photos and lists and describe the problem. Incomplete is fine – that is exactly what we are here for.

  2. 2

    Free assessment

We check feasibility and classify your case. If something is unclear, we ask. If we cannot help, we say so openly.

  3. 3

    Fixed-price offer

You receive an offer for the data package with scope, price and delivery time. Work starts only after your order.

  4. 4

    Engineering

We complete the data, document every assumption and mark the points that need your confirmation.

  5. 5

    Review & delivery

You get the complete package and a report. Open points are clarified together before anything is manufactured.

  6. 6

    Manufacturing (optional)

On request we obtain quotes for PCB fabrication and assembly from qualified partners – including component sourcing.

Want to send a physical sample? We will give you the shipping address after the first contact – please do not send boards unannounced.

What we decline – and why

We want to help as many customers as possible. But an honest answer is better than a project that fails. We decline when:

  • the design rights belong to a third party and replication is not permitted
  • the board relies on custom chips (ASICs) or read-protected firmware that cannot be replaced
  • the problem remains unclear even after consultation – including what the result should be
  • the effort is out of proportion to the benefit (we tell you before you pay anything)
  • export-controlled data (e.g. ITAR) would have to be processed without the necessary authorisation

Who we work for

  • Aviation & ground equipment

Test benches, ground support equipment, cabin and lighting electronics – with clean documentation for your approval process.

  • Industry & machinery

Control and interface boards in machines that are meant to run for another twenty years.

  • Rail & infrastructure

Long-life systems where spare parts must remain available for decades.

  • Classic cars & vintage electronics

Control units, instrument boards and audio equipment that nobody supplies any more.

Request a free assessment

The more you send, the faster we can assess. But photos and a short description are enough to start.

What do you have?

Frequently asked questions

What does the assessment cost?

Nothing. You only pay once you accept our fixed-price offer.

How long does it take?

The assessment usually takes a few working days. The delivery time for the data package depends on the level and is stated in the offer.

Can you also manufacture the boards?

Yes, through qualified partner manufacturers. You receive the data package in any case and can also use it with your own supplier.

Can the boards be used in certified aircraft?

We deliver the technical data. Approval for installation in a certified aircraft (e.g. via the type certificate holder, a Part 21 design organisation, PMA or STC) remains with the approved organisation – we gladly support it with documentation.

Is my data treated confidentially?

Yes. Your data is used only for your request and is not passed on without your consent. An NDA is possible on request.

Which file formats can I send?

Anything you have: ZIP, PDF, images, Excel/CSV, Gerber and CAD files of any age.
